A "we are living in the future" moment

I can now watch my favorite webcomic artist working in real time out on the East Coast. I can only imagine what I would have made of this as a kid, back when fax machines were cutting edge.

It's not as profound as downloading six hours of my favorite music on to an inch-wide MP3 player that fits nicely in my wallet. Still, each month seams to bring some headline or moment or the occasional purchase that leaves me feeling that the future is here.
