Another example of why people stopped reading science fiction

It's a real loss for society that literary science fiction focuses largely on the dark sides and costs of technology, and has largely ceased to discuss it's potential for improving the human condition. One of the strong points of art in any medium is the ability to generate the deep-seated emotional expectation of progress, which shapes young lives and motivates people to actively take part in shaping the world for the better.
